Support our GoFundme Campaign – we’re raising $1500 to help purchase a small gift for kids.
The 124 Redwood Rangers are excited to lead the Holiday Basket Food Drive for the second year! Originally started by the Arcata Presbyterian Church we are now proud to help continue this tradition.
Our goal is to serve 100 local low-income families with children. Last year, we were able to help nearly 80 families. Each holiday basket includes canned and boxed non-perishable items, fresh produce, a turkey or chicken, and a small gift for each child.
For this project, we are:
• Collecting canned goods from over a dozen schools and businesses across the county.
• Purchasing approximately $4,000 worth of non-perishable goods and frozen turkeys/chickens.
• Raising funds to help cover the cost of gifts for the children. (Check out our GoFundMe for more details!)

Our Story
We start planning for this event in September. By October we’ve connected with schools and businesses to help collect canned goods. We are well underway to collect 100+ apple boxes that will be used as our ‘baskets’. Finally we spread the word through the community about the service we’re offering!
